Challenge
The Whisper Valley community in Texas sought a water supply to help advance their commitment to a healthy, resilient, and sustainable lifestyle. While this installation was initially intended to be an alternative to bottled water, it ended up providing water for a community facing a water disaster. Due to heavy rains and flooding, residents of the Austin area (including Whisper Valley) were under a state-mandated boil-water advisory, leaving close to one million people affected. Most residents turned to bottled water to avoid the potential contaminants in the water system, but were faced with bottle shortages as time went on and store shelves were emptied.
SOURCE Project
A four-Hydropanel rooftop array installed at a central location within the community, provided life-saving clean, reliable drinking water to residents during a time of great need. Today, Whisper Valley enjoys the resilience, independence and peace of mind that comes with owning a renewable water supply of their own.
